7to Mazda IRONMAN 70.3 Los Cabos 2023
El Mazda IRONMAN 70.3 Los Cabos repartirá 30 lugares a categorías por edad para el Campeonato Mundial IRONMAN 70.3 2024 que se llevará a cabo en Taupō, Nueva Zelanda los días 14 -15 de diciembre de 2024.
El Mazda IRONMAN 70.3 comprenderá: 1.9k de natación, 90km de ciclismo y 21.1km de carrera y será un gran espectáculo ya que contará con grandes figuras internacionales y nacionales.
México estará representado, en la rama varonil, por Tomás Rodríguez, campeón del IRONMAN 70.3 Cozumel 2023 y por Eduardo Pérez Sandi, Fabian Villanueva, y José Luis Córdova en la rama varonil y por Adriana Carreño y Arlette González en la femenil.
Los mexicanos enfrentarán grandes rivales como el estadounidense Jason West y el canadiense Jackson Laundry.
En la rama femenil parten como favoritas la canadiense Paula Findlay y la austriaca Lisa
Perterer.
Los ganadores de las primeras 6 ediciones del IRONMAN 70.3 Los Cabos son:
2015.- Francisco Serrano MEX 4:02:46 y Magali Tisseyre CAN 4:24:28
2016.- Mauricio Méndez MEX 3:52:17 y Angela Naeth CAN 4:19:42
2017.- Terenzzo Bozzone NZL 3:45:34 y Jeannie Seymoure ZAF 4:18:13
2018.- Sam Appleton AUS 3:48:43 y Ellie Salthouse AUS 4:17:36
2019.- Lionel Sanders CAN 3:44:06 y Mirinda Carfrae AUS 4:31:36
2022.- Adriano Engelhardt CHE 3:46:34 y Rachel McBride CAN 4:22:36.
La natación (Una vuelta) se llevará a cabo en Playa Palmilla en el Mar de Cortés, llamado el
acuario del mundo por Jacques Cousteau, por su enorme variedad de especies marinas y la
limpieza y transparencia de sus aguas.
El ciclismo (Dos vueltas) será un recorrido de 90K para el 70.3 en un paisaje espectacular entre el desierto y el mar.
La carrera (Dos vueltas) será en un recorrido con subidas y bien pavimentado.
La entrega de paquetes de competidor se efectuará el viernes 3 de noviembre de 12:00 a 18:00 y el sábado 5 de 9:00 a 15:00 en el hotel Barceló Grand Faro, en San José del Cabo.
La práctica de natación se llevará a cabo el sábado de 6:30 a 8:15 horas en Playa Palmilla.
El domingo 5 la categoría elite varonil arrancará a las 6:20am, la femenil a las 6:25 y las categorías por edad a las 6:30.
Una vez que el último competidor ingresó al mar, los atletas disponen de 8.5 horas para
completar el evento.
La premiación se realizará el domingo 5 desde las 18:00 horas en el teatro mexicano del hotel Barceló Grand Faro y ahí mismo se efectuará la asignación de slots, inmediatamente después de que finalice la entrega de trofeos.
